Best Tips to Maintain Iron Fences

Here at Texas Fence & Iron, we see our products as long term investments. Just like valuable items, we want our clients to receive the best quality product and be able to maintain it for years to come. Here are some tips to maintain Iron Fences.

Apply a Protective Coat of Wax

Iron fences are prone to rust when exposed to rain and humidity, adding a protective coat of wax would ward off rust.

Apply a Protective Sealant If Near a Pool

Just like rain and humidity will make an iron fence rust, pool water has a similar effect. If your fence is within reach of a pool, we suggest you apply a protective sealant.

Clean your Fence

Using a mixture of warm water and dish detergent, you can clean your fences to keep an eye on any potential problems. Remember to rinse it with water, and let it air dry completely.

Repair Rust Spots

If you start to see small spots of rust on your fence, use some sandpaper or steel wool to remove it. After, apply wax or sealant to keep it from spreading. In addition, touching up your fence’s paint can help minimize the appearance of rust.

Maintaining Iron Fences can be simple as long as you stay consistent and really take care of them. Do not forget that fences are an investment, take any steps necessary to upkeep them. For additional information, help, or solicitations contact us!
